CBD Oil and Breast Cancer

Is anyone using CBD oil?  I would really like to try it - especially to see if it eases the joint pain from the Anastrozole tablets, but I've read so many different things I am confused!  Some say yes it's fine to use if you've had breast cancer and others say no - not if you have oestrogen fed cancer.  I would appreciate any comments or advice.  Doctor's won't give any advice one way or the other!

  • HI Kitz welcome to the forum.

Im not sure about CBD oil and like you hear and read mixed reviews for this. Is there not something else that you could have a look at maybe in conjunction with the GP for example to help ease the pain.

Why dont you give the Macmillan Line a call and see if they have any further information that they may be able to direct you to. 08088080000.

  • Thanks for the reply GRANNY59.  Yes I will do that.  Would like to find something natural that helps!

  • Hi  there is a breast cancer forum elsewhere on social media with lots of info on this. CBD oil is fine for ER+ cancer.  Please do your research before buying as some aren't very good.  I buy one considered the best available in the UK, which gives an independent analysis of each batch  The law is changing again at the end of this month btw, making it classed as a food supplement! I'm not sure how much it helps with pain,  but it helps with sleep and I'm less stressed when I take it (not all the  time). It was a godsend when going through the roller  coaster of testing when first diagnosed!

  • Thank you so much Londonmumof2 - that's really helpful.  I have some oil which I know is top quality as I joined the company as a distributor just before I was diagnosed but due to everything that then happened to me I didn't really get started.  My son is taking it for anxiety and it's really helping.  I was just worried about taking something that would interfere with the Anastrozole or be oestrogenic itself and just couldn't find any definitive answers one way or the other - just seemed like the jury is out!  When I was first diagnosed over a year ago I read everything and tried to avoid oestrogen in food, products etc. etc.  I've relaxed a bit lately but still feel the need to be careful.  Glad to hear it's helping you with sleep as I just don't (unless I've had a couple of red wines!) so I'm feeling I should give it a go.  What strength do you take and how many drops?

    Just keep going!
  • I have not tried it myself, but one of my neighbors did. She found out that she had breast cancer a few years ago, and now she is thankfully in remission.
But she used to be in a lot of pain at the moment when she was really sick. The regular painkillers helped a little, but they had too many side effects, and it was dangerous to take them. It was then that her doctor advised her to chew some CBD gummies

  • Would you mind telling me the name of your CBD oil? I am currently using Pureis from Holland and Barrett but it is not having a great effect.

    Many thanks

  • I use low dose "I love hemp" oil drops as flavoured.  It's made a huge difference to my hip pain

  • I've been using CBD oil, which I hoped with help with my sleep. I bought full spectrum and soluble and it was quite expensive but I can't say it's made any difference to my sleep.

  • I tried a longer reply,  but it's not posting . I sometimes take the full spectrum Blessed one.

  • The only thing I read somewhere that makes me wary is that is can interfere with the cyp liver enzymes which metabolise tamoxifen. That said, a lot of people seem to take it so it can’t be a major interference….but it does worry me. X
