Hi
I had a breast clinic appointment yesterday because I found a lump in my right breast and pigment changes to the areola. The previous two weeks had been an anxious time because I’d been diagnosed with breast cancer last year and had a mastectomy of my left boob.
I was checked over, had mammogram and scan and discussed all my worries concerning whether the hormone treatment was actually working! I had got myself in to a state by thinking that every tiny change to my breast was suspicious. I’m sure some of you will know what it’s like to be paranoid that the cancer is returning! The lump turned out to be a group of small cysts and nothing of concern. I probably just needed to hear this from the consultant for reassurance.
I want to give a big thank you to the breast care team who were so understanding and ensured me that I’d done the right thing by having it checked out. It’s such a relief not just for me but for my family who’ve had to put up my anxieties over the last two weeks.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
