I had my first dose of Paclitaxel on Friday and so trying to figure out whether I am just being the anxious patient, or this is normal. Yesterday I started to develop a flushed face, feels like Ive been out in the sun too long. Is this normal? Any help would be much appreciated
Hi Lizb6, I had weekly Paclitaxel from the end of October until Christmas as well as carboplatin every 3 weeks. I did find I had hot flushes and a flushed face, I still get them now I am on FEC and I think it is due to the steroids given to take in the days immediately following treatment. Overall, I found paclitaxel okay and had minimal side effects, I did get some nose bleeds after the first few doses. If you are worried about your flushed face give your nurses a call, I've found they are very supportive and always have advice on things to do to help with the SE. Best wishes x
Thank you HollytheCat, that is really helpful. That would also explain my temperature changes which have been a bit weird!!!! Not really worried about it, but just trying to figure out all the stuff thats coming
