Hi,
I have just had my first treatment of 12 months after having chemo and surgery. Just wanted to get your experience of the drugs / side effects etc. I have a picc line in but really want that taken out now, are you ok to have the drugs without one?
Radiotherapy next too if anyone has tips for getting through that too please.
A bit daunted by it all!
Hi DLW and a very warm welcome to the online community
I can't help with your question about the PICC line but I noticed that your post hadn't had any responses yet. By replying to you it will 'bump' your post back to the top of the discussions list where it'll be more easily seen. I'm also 'tagging' this group's Community Champion GRANNY59 into my reply as she may be able to help you further or point you in the right direction.
If you type 'trastuzumab and pertuzumab' into the search bar in the group it will bring up any previous posts which mention these drugs. You could have a read through those and respond to any of the more recent posters if you want to ask them any questions.
I have found this Macmillan information about trastuzumab and pertuzumab for you which tells you how the drugs are given and the side effects you might experience.
When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hi DLW
Sorry it seems like your ahead of me in having your treatment. I've just had my third EC with the first bone infusion and also first time on the daily injections to increase white cell count. My body really did not like the daily injections as I could hardly walk or even see as my very eyelids were sore!!!! I was hoping I reacted like this as I hadn't really recovered properly from swollen lymph nodes as a result of the coronovirus vaccine.
Im due to start Doxetaxel plus Herceptin plus pertuzumab and wonder how you got on in this part of your treatment.
It is massive shock to get the her2pos diagnosis. Its hard to come to terms with but the treatment approach has very good success rates (as long as our poor bodies can tolerate it!!!) I hope your doing okay?
