    Hi Janine,

Yes, my nose feels like a dripping tap sometimes, especially if I do anything strenuous.

Feeling a bit down as I’ve just had second chemo delayed by a week because my bloods are low. Feel like I’m falling at the first hurdle even though an extra week to recover sounds good I just wanted to get through it.

Sorry to hear that Ruby, I had my white blood cell count drop in my first cycle and was just playing the waiting game to see if my next cycle would be delayed. Luckily it wasn’t but I actually had to go in and have blood test on Chemo day and wait with the possibility that I’d be sent home. Adding anytime extra time onto our journey is awful as the end already seems a long way away. I’m now on my five daily injections and I hate doing them but I know they are needed. I just try to remind myself that no matter how down or shitty I feel, it will end and let’s face it if we can get through this then we can get through anything.
    Take Care

    Janine x

  • Definitely have the runny nose but only in certain situations,  one of them when wearing a face mask.  Hot stuffy mask with a constant runny nose is not a good combination Flushed

I'm sorry you have a delay so early on ,  this is something we just want to get through  so it must be frustrating.   It is surprising though how the time goes, before you know it you will be counting down to your last ones x

    Thanks Hepi

Looking forward to that euthoric feeling when they take the line out. Yep this part is pscholocally tough. Interesting ref hair thinning stopping two weeks later mine has thinned with cold cap too but still dont need a wig. Fortunately i dont need the herceptin and as i have had radiotherapy for the breast cancer last time. Just hope and pray the chemo does the trick as was not offered chemo last time round.

Thanks for your support Dchem wish you every luck with your treatment you must be more than halfway through which is good and that joyous finito  moment will soon be with you too

    Xxxx

  • Hi Neenie29, are you on Herceptin ?, runny nose is a SE, I had it at the start of the session, it has slowed down a little, next session is Friday, so will probebly start up again, it kind of just runs with no warning ... hope everyone with treatment this week and next gets through it with minimal SE x

  • Sorry to be misleading re hair thinning, I meant it stopped thinning 2 weeks after chemo finished.. I had 12 weekly sessions of Paclitaxel for one hour and hair started thinning after the 6th hour. But cold capped through all 12 sessions. Didn't need a wig either..Hope the chemo did it. I'm the other way, in that they got it all out during my operation.I'm hoping they scan me before radiotherapy.

    Thanks Janine,

Need to look at the positives and try to enjoy this week but I just feel like crying.

I hope you get through your work nuections without too much pain.

    Ruby xx

  • Yes I have a runny nose too, antihistamines helped a little bit think it’s just hankies at the ready

1st Docetaxel completed, was there 3hrs so not too bad. Was very nervous of reaction but apart from a little discomfort with cannula and stinging with cold was all good.
Stronger steroids kept me awake most of the night though, no expectations for how SE will be...day at a time and wait and see...got meds for any eventuality I think.

Wishing you all peace and calm in the storm...with a helping of laughter and joy to bring healing Heart️

  • My second one was delayed a week too, I was frustrated too at the extra time added but then I felt really good with the extra recovery time and built in some more nice treats to help with the wait.
We will all get through in the time our bodies need but delays are really hard!

Wishing you all peace and calm in the storm...with a helping of laughter and joy to bring healing Heart️

Thanks Dclem, it’s comforting to know it’s not just me. Did they reduce the dose after that or did you just cope better?
