Good morning all!
After quite a long delay, I have a second appointment with a plastic surgeon tomorrow and I’m not sure what to do.
I had a lumpectomy, but the surgeon found a fairly big area of pre-cancerous cells and so she ended up taking away more than what was planned. So I’ve got one perky breast and one that’s starting to feel the effects of gravity and it’s only going to get worse! I was expecting the surgeon to add to the breast that had already had surgery, but she thought that it would be better to lift the other.
I wondered whether anybody could share experiences of this (recovery time, scarring etc). I don’t really want another general anaesthetic, so I wondered whether it could be done under local?
Thank you,
Sarah.
Hi Sarah1111,
I was offered a reduction on the other side, which would also have made that perkier, but I’m only a B cup anyway and in a well fitting bra (plus that I’m now 75) it all looks ok. None of us are totally symmetrical either. I decided against it especially the needed surgery and general anaesthetic. I’m not sure that could be done under local either.
Hoping you can make your decision; don’t forget, it shouldn’t be needed immediately, my team said that if I changed my mind at any time in the future, they would see me again.
Hugs xxx
Moomy
