I felt it would be a good idea to have a thread for this which people can use to ask questions, especially about side effects.

Youre right, waiting is hard . It will be easier once there is a plan.

I know ive defo to have radiotherapy and probably hormones.

The important thing is that all these things will keep us well.

Let us know how Tues goes xx

  • Hi  it is worrying isn't it.  I know some people don't get any symptoms so hopefully we won't either.  It's the fear of the unknown for now.

My oncologist told me to wait two weeks after last radiotherapy session before starting tamoxifen so I wonder if you should check whether you should be starting so soon if you've only just finished rt.

I have set a daily alarm for 12pm for taking mine so will see how that goes.

Hope you don't get any side effects. x

  • Wishing you all well and hope you have minimal or no side effects.

If they are unbearable, your oncologist will try you with something else, I couldn't tolerate the headaches from letrozole so switched to anastrozole.

    X

  • Thanks , that's good to know.

Hope you are doing well on anastrozole. xx

  • Thanks Godwilling,

I do get hot flushes occasionally, had problems with my feet and ankles, painful after a day at work, I've bought sketchers and some padded insoles for them to wear at work. I work in a special needs school so on my feet a lot.

The worst is the vaginal atrophy, nothing  seems to soothe that, that has got worse the longer I've been on medication.

I'm under a gynae too, hopefully they will come up with a non hormonal cream or medication. X

  • yes that's definitely one of the symptoms making me anxious.  Is the cream you suggested not doing a good enough job or is it too early to tell?  Knowing me I'l be online trying out all the natural remedies posted on there.  I also see a homeopath so hoping that homeopathy will help.

At the end of the day I'm happy to be alive and will put up with any side effects to stay that way but hopefully sharing experiences and ideas on here will help make things more comfortable and less stressful.

It really helps to know we're not alone. xx
