I felt it would be a good idea to have a thread for this which people can use to ask questions, especially about side effects.
Godwilling,
You are right, I'm pleased to be well and here to tell the tale. When I'm feeling well it's great, bad days when effects make me feel older than my years, I'm 54, it's harder.
Yes the kegal 8 is a new cream I'm trying, not used it long enough but natural products will be less damaging on skin as I've been prescribed steroids to relieve itching and soreness but steroids do thin the skin. I do think it's made some difference, less itchy definately, much cheaper than the creams in the pharmacy like replens etc. X
Thanks Godwilli g yes fingers crossed we will be fine. Yes may check with my oncologist then thsnk you for that. Let me know how you get on x good luck
My ankles and legs were hurting terribly. I went in and had my lumpectomy and was told to wear those socks for 6 weeks - the ones that help with deep vein thrombosis. And the pains have gone. I mentioned it to my nurse and she said she hears this often and believes the socks - although not attractive help with any fluid that might be building up. I don't mind them that much now.
I am taking Letrozole and have horrible problems with my eyes being dry - I did when I first went through menopause as well - I use Hylo-Forte eye drops x4 a day whether I need them or not that day. It helps!. Good luck.
I was never told to keep socks on and took them off when I left hospital. Not too helpful! Now still have pain in feet.
Hi Bluestar2, I wondered how you are doing as I was advised yesterday I needed mastectomy and also ER+. How are you feeling ?
Hi all. After mastectomy/recon in December, I stared on Anastrozole 6 weeks ago. I thought I was doing quite well, apart from an irritating cough, but in the last few days have been dizzy when bending over and last nifght was dizzy during the night and feel awful today. I had thought about asking for a change in meds but it seems Letrozole can give you fatigue but I pride myself on being an active 67year old so worry about that! I was on Tamoxifen for 10 years ending 10 years ago and okay on that apart from going into early menopause. I wonder, should I ask to go back on that or is this debillitating dizziness going to be temporary do you think?
Hi Pollymay, sorry you’re feeling so rotten, I’m thinking though that it may not be the anastrozole? It sounds like it should be checked out in case it’s something else. If it is the Anastrozole and carries on, it doesn’t sound like something you’d want to be suffering with long term. It’s really difficult with these drugs as not everyone gets the same effects. I’m on Anastrozole and fatigue is my worst effect. But i still walk loads as that actually seems to help. It also helps the joint pains. Overall I thibk I’m fitter than I was pre cancer! Helps that I was able to retire earlier than planned, at 61.
Hope you can resolve the dizziness soon, I’d definitely have it looked into as it must be very debilitating. Love and hugs, HFxx
