I felt it would be a good idea to have a thread for this which people can use to ask questions, especially about side effects.

  • Haven’t been on for a while, just wanted to wish you all a healthy prosperous and happy New Year.Hope you are all in a better place than last year, keep moving forward in best way possible.Cheers xx

  • I agree about the brands making a difference. Unfortunately not all brands are available - no matter how many chemists I go to I can't find the brand that is best for me.

    Many thanks

I joke that I’m working my way down the side effects for Tamoxifen. One of them is tingling and electric shock feelings, mostly down my right leg. I’m told it’s peripheral neuropathy. Hopefully it’s temporary but sometimes is sticks around. It’s like tinnitus in your sense of touch!

  • Hi,

I am on Letrozole and also get strange pains in legs and feet but also arm and hands. I also have Lymphoedema so the arm stuff is probably due to that. Have tried all sorts including compression socks for feet but now accept that it's something else to put up with.

Ah well! Only 3 years to go!

Stay positive and keep trying as it may only be temporary.

    Good luck.

Thanks  - it’s rubbish to have the side effects, but very comforting to know it’s not just me! I’m not long finished treatment and right now I feel like every ache and pain is cancer coming back….

    Ruby xx

  • It may improve after a while but mainly I think you get used to it so cope better. Give it time as it's better than the alternative. I have found that the Letrozole brand does make a difference and my pharmacy always send me Accord now because I rang and asked them to.

Stay strong, you an do this! x

  • Hi

My consultant has started me on letrozole today. I've been given accord - 14 tabs. My bcn said to try to stay with the brand you are given for 12 weeks but if things get desperate , to get back in touch.

So I'll see how it goes armed with the info from this thread Blush

  • That's good. I started on Letrozole but had so much pain was moved to Exemestane. This was far worse so went back to consultant who diagnosed Lymphoedema which was cause of most of the pain! Now back on Letrozole and managing albeit with some pain but a lot better now.

Stick with it, it may not be as bad as some people get and you may have very little side effects..

  • Hi

I' started on letrozole early this week. The hospital started me on Accord. I take it with my evening meal

Its early days , today  is day 6 but up to now I've had no major side effects.

I felt slightly sick at first  but that passed when I ate something.

I had such an horrendous menopause I  suppose I'm waiting to see if anything kicks off as I progress. Or it may be that I am starting from having low levels of estrogen.

    Anyway its figers crossed

  • Just a random nothing post to push this thread back to the front page as I've mentioned it to a few people but not been able to post link as I was on my phone. X
