is this even possible?
Hi Mishcadee welcome to the forum and I am so very sorry to hear this news you must be absolutely reeling from this and little wonder.
I dont know enough about your question to answer with anything useful but I wondered if you might like to post your question in The Ask a Nurse thread as thya may be able to give you more information then maybe we could. I have inserted the link to the ask a nurse which if you press on should take you straight there.
Hope you get some answers for you and sending huge big hugs your way for now.xxx
As far as i understand, about 5% of tissue is left behind in a mastectomy. If you didn't have nodal clearance then sone traces could also be there.
I'm presuming that you were ER+? Did you have chemo and hormone blockers the first time?
It must be a shock after all this time, but treatment has come a long way in 18 years. There are a few women in this forum with recurrence after many years, so maybe they answer the question better than me:) x
