Hi has anyone had flu vaccine during chemotherapy? I was offered to have it done recently and I’m not sure if it’s good idea.
Hi I had the flu vaccine after my first chemo session. Ideally it would have been better to have it before you start chemo but my GP were very slow at getting back to me. I was told Chemo weakens your immune system so was advised to have a flu jab especially now with Covid.
I gather there is a need to have space between flu and Covid jabs, so get that advice and get your flu jabs in good time, folks

I waited last year til chemo finished but with Covid around now I would ask Onco . If I remember rightly the advice was to get it done as your immune system was recovering so about 10 days in . That was advice for me from my team ,but remember your Onco has the blood results to see how your system is doing so check with them
