Hi everyone, My name is Sandy,  About 3 years ago I was told I had breast cancer they found 3 lumps, they didn't want to operate because of other health issues, so they put me on letrozole. I was taken them for about 2 years & the lumps stopped growing until last year then they said  I would need a Mastectomy as the lumps had grown, so in December I had one breast taken of, everything went really well I was back home the 2nd day after surgery I was so pleased, as my consultant was a bit apprehensive doing the op because of my other health issues.

In the January I had my prosthetic breast, I'm a big lady my size is 44ff, they gave me the biggest one but I look lopsided, when I look in the mirror I don't like what I see & now I don't know how to cope. The one shop that did my size don't do that size any more. Does anyone else have a problem like this? I feel so alone & no one understands.

The hospital have changed my tablets to Exemestane I'm finding that I'm going through the menopause again & my hair is getting thinner does anyone have that problem?

Sorry for waffling on...

  • Hi Sandy,

so sorry you’ve needed to find the group. I hope you still have contact with your BCN? As that’s the best way of getting help to match you up better, hopefully your hospital has a system of arranging a prosthetic appointment for you.
About hair thinning; mine did with Letrozole, but slowed down and then grew back again, rather more curly than it was before, so maybe that will happen for you on Exemesrane. I hope so.

keep posting, no question too daft!

    sending hugs xxx
