Has anyone had aching joints after radiotherapy?
I am on letrozole but noticed the aching joints more after the radiotherapy 2 weeks after...
Is this just coincidental?
What are people using for this pain?
Hi Jammer and welcome to the forum.
I suspect that this may be more due to the Letrozole than the Radiotherapy. Three are pages and pages re Letrozole on here and also about the different brands and the side effects they cause but I havent been aware of anyone having aching joints after Radiotherapy.
See what the others think? x
Thankyou
That's not good news then..does this mean I will have these pains in my joints for 5 to 10 yrs whilst on these meds. ?
Or does it lessen over time?
What are other people taking for this pain?
I have just started tumeric tablets and glucosamine tablets...will have to wait a few weeks to see if their is any improvement.
This is draining me
Hi Jammer
I am trying to stick with letrozole but have a review soon after 5 months on them and will discuss further.
I was a runner, fairly fit at age 55 and I feel like an old woman some days. I walk lots and starting to run again, fairly determined not to be defined by BC. Not sure if the stiffness is easing or if I am just getting used to feeling different.
I have always said I won't swop tablets and risk even worse side effects. My radiotherapy ended 30/6.
Keep as active as possible is my advice and discuss things with cancer nurse, radiotherapist
Good luck x
Yes I'm going to stick to these same brand of letrozole for a few months. I finished my RT just 2 weeks ago. And began these straight after operation 6th June. My only side effects are my joints and I see others with lots of side effects. I've spoken to my BCN. She agrees with me.. I'm just starting with glucosamine tablets and tumeric tablets also. So want to see how I get on with these. They take a few weeks to work i believe. I'm walking half hour minimum most days and dancing and a bit if excercise..
Dealing with the itching and skin at the moment too.
But hopeful that will go away soon and can concentrate on getting better.
Thanks and good luck
