Hi, I had 3 lymph node biopsies today on two enlarge axillary nodes. My mastectomy was in January 2018 so I'm a bit worried that I have a recurrence/spread. Has anyone had swollen lymph nodes years after a mastectomy that have turned out to be nothing sinister?

  • Hi

I'm not able to help you today, other than bumping your post up in in the hope that someone who's got some experience can help you out.  Sorry! and sorry that you are in this worrying position too Disappointed

    Kindest wishes,

Hi, Thank you :) Yes... I'm worried. Hopefully someone will have some experience of enlarged lymph nodes.

  • I am going through the exact same thing and have had the enlarged lymph nodes biopsied 3 times. My mastectomy was Oct 2018.

Thankfully each time tested it turned out to not be cancer returning, they think it is being caused by my implant. Which has caused enlarged lymph nodes in my sternum and one single large lymph node in my opposite armpit (nodes all removed on the cancerous side)

I did have a follow up CT last month to monitor and still awaiting the results which I have chased up on today as the one in my armpit can be felt and has always been the size of a small grape. Literally just received a call that I will have a phone update end of this week beginning of next. Hopefully all is still well!

I hope this gives another perspective on what the outcomes could be and i really hope yours does not turn out to be sinister. X
