Hello, I am 50 years old and 2 years post mastectomy, right side, DCIs, high grade, no spread to lymph nodes. All was good until last week when I started to get pain and soreness in the nipple of the remaining breast. I know it is unlikely to be cancer again as I’m pre menopausal, hormones etc! But have never had this in remaining breast before. Can’t feel any lumps or bumps and no discharge, just painful, sore and incredibly sensitive! Am due for my 2nd post op mammogram on July 8th so I know it will get checked out then.
Has anyone else had the same? Any advice? Worried that it’s come back.
Thanks xx
Hi
I do get nipple soreness, but in my surgery side.
I’d definitely give your Breast Care team a ring tomorrow and get it checked out, just to be on the safe side.
Try not to worry - silly as I know you will.
But please get it checked properly xx
big hugs to you x
Hi. Are you on any medication, tamoxifen, letrozole etc? That could cause some sensitivity.
Did you have chemo at the time?
No medication and luckily no chemo either. Probably just hormonal and I’m overreacting!
