Hi
I was diagnosed with triple positive breast cancer just before Christmas. I have had a lumpectomy and senital lymph node biopsy. I require second surgery on Thursday due to close margins. I will then need chemotherapy with trastuzumab and radiotherapy. I can't sleep im so anxious. How will I feel during chemotherapy? . Will I be able to work?
Please try not to worry about Chemo. I was like you and I felt terrified. Anxiety over chemo on top of everything else was something I didn’t want to experience. My first day I walked in and was greeted .by 2 wonderful chemo nurses who b put me at ease and answered my questions honestly and I trusted them immediately. I had a visit from the pharmacist who gave me 4 sedative tablets to take1 for tnext few sessions. 1 to take 1hr before chemo. My chemo anxiety disappeared after 2 sessions Iso much that I forgot to take them. I have just returned from my 11th session today and can honestly say that I’ve been very lucky with side effects and have only just started to find my hair thinning so scarves and wig are on the way. At least bad hair days are a thing of the past for a while. I’ve been to the recommended hairdresser today for a wig and I am quite excited. I hope your treatment goes well and that you will feel much better after your chemo appointment.Hugs
