Mind in a whirl. Phone call today to say biopsy results are not back and will get a phone call next week. Have met the surgeon who was very positive that this will be fixed with an operation and radiotherapy. Just want to get going with the treatment. Staying strong and positive as much as I can.

Well done for the positivity! Try to take one step at a time and don’t think too far ahead. I found so much help and knowledge on this forum.
I was diagnosed at the end of September 2024 with a 37mm DCIS. Shocked and scared is an understatement as you know yourself! And the waiting is so stressful! However, I had a lumpectomy first week of October which was a breeze, another lumpectomy 3 weeks later as the margins weren’t clear which was also a breeze. I finished my radiotherapy last Friday which was ok too! Now I’m on yearly mammograms.Once you start treatment something changes in you, I found the waiting far worse than the treatment.
Good luck and keep us posted.Hugsx
Oh thank you so much for your message. This has literally brought tears to my eyes...first time I've felt tearful. Up till now I think I've been in shock.
You're so right with the waiting. Spoke to one of the nurses at the breast unit who phoned to check I was ok...so kind. She said the team would discuss my case next Monday if the results are in and arrange my pre op.
So happy for you that you've finished your treatment and you are a ray of sunshine being so positive and living your life. Good luck now and for the future x
In May 2015 age 51 I was recalled from my first rountine screening mammogram for 2 areas of calcification (10mm & 5mm). From biopsy I was diagnosed with intermediate DCIS in the 10mm area only. The smaller area was benign. I had a WLE in the July and 15 sessions of radiotherapy in the September. 11mm high grade DCIS was final diagnosis after surgery. Still knocking around al most 10 years on
