Hi, I had my first cycle of chemo on Thursday & im struggling with feeling agitated. Is this normal? I do take anti depressants and pharmacist said that it could interact with one of my anti sicknesCrymeds . If it did she said they would change me on to something else. Could it be that it is that how having chemo makes you feel? I don’t know if I can do this another 5 times CryCry
Sorry for the ramble I feel like I can’t settle and I’m pacing around like some mad woman

  • Hi MrsB23,

When I had my chemo July to September I felt agitated and shaky on the days I had to take my steroids after the 3 days taking the steroids I settled down.

If your meds are responsible ask for it to be changed see if it settles.

I hope they get it sorted for you. It's tough but doable.

I thought it would never end but it does. I'm through the other side now and getting stronger each day.

Good luck with your recovery xx

  • I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Was going to ask, are you taking steroids with/after treatment? If you are then that will make you feel very jangly for a few days. It’s worth trying to ride it out because they do their job. Bit also if they make you feel awful then speak to your team because there are always other options. I take anti depressants too but I found the roids every three weeks did me in. My son & partner literally hid from me as I ate everything in sight, cried and went absolutely nuts and didn’t sleep! But after the 3 days of taking them were up I was instantly ok. You can do it again, and next time you’ll know what to expect and you’ll get kind of used to the new routine. The thing with chemo is it’s quite predictable so you’ll know which days you’ll feel tired or crap and can plan ahead for it x
