Hi I'm new to all this , got diagnosed with stage 2 BC left breast , had mammogram had scans biopsies clip seed, had lumpsectomy with lymph nodes removed 31st march then a cavity shave 4 weeks ago , starting radiotherapy 31st July to 6th Aug   got tamoxifen but looking at them as terrified taken them as so many side effects and I suffer with most due to 10 other health conditions and disease and disorders and I'm 52 primenapauseal , confused on what yo do ????

  • Didn’t find tamoxifen too bad.The next stage aromatase inhibitors are vile

  • Did you take them at night or morning , I'm on them for 5 years then 3 years of letrozole

  • I am premenopausal and been taking tamoxifen for a year. I had a couple of warm nights and a little bit of struggling to focus for a few days when I first started taking them but that soon passed. The advice around managing side effects (if you have any) seems to mainly be avoiding alcohol and being physically active. I take my pill at about 4.30 each day and have no issues at all. Not everyone has any side effects so may be worth trying and seeing how you feel? Best of luck. x

  • I can't be physically active as I have heart problems and lung disease which prevents me from doing the simplest of tasks , that's why I'm struggling so much dealing with BC too I get so many side effects from my other medications and I'm worried I will get more onto or these ones doubled , really scared on this treatment but better than cancer

  • I’m sorry you have so much to deal with, it must be difficult for you. Have you spoken to your oncologist or an BCN about your worries? Perhaps they may be able to offer reassurance or advice. x

  • I'm seeing my radiotherapy today first app so will chat to them about it all

  • Hi lovely

i’m about to start radiation on the 19th of August or should I say meet my oncology team? I’ve been put  Letrozole an experience horrible side-effects, especially the joint ache. I’ve had slight bleeding and more brain fog and the most horrendous headaches down the side of my neck too My surgeon had asked me to See how I go for three months I really don’t think I can handle this for three months. I wish you well with the start of your treatment.X

  • I'm dreading starting the tabs as I'm dealing with loads of side effects now with my other health issues , so adding to them is something I don't want to handle but I no I have too , will see how it goes today my app at 10 .30 in Fazakerley cancer centre
