Hi all, I was diagnosed stage 3 breast cancer on Tuesday. Still a bit mentally numb (wish boobs were because currently the right one is totally black and blue!) Steep learning curve, and a big shock as I had only been declared all clear after hysterectomy in January after 5 yrs of check ups. Waiting on results of 2nd biopsy and oncology consultancy date.
Ordering a 'secretly hoping chemo gives me superpowers' t shirt, and the sensible new car hunt became a sod it let's get a diesel guzzling 4x4 overnight!
So far every staff member I've met has been amazing down to the imaging receptionist who recognised me coming back in after a fortnight and gave me a massive hug.
Good luck to you all on your journeys, I will probably have 100s of questions soon. Px
Hi pingsmum , cancer definitely puts things into perspective, and it a great big shock, I was diagnosed 2 months ago with stage 1 breast cancer had surgery a month later and now due for a ct scan an radio therapy in a weeks time, but what I wasn’t prepared for was everything that came later, hot , cold sweats, after hrt , not fully understanding all the other things that creeps up on you slowl, up and down mood swings, dry and sore down below, everything happens so quickly, I am so sorry that it’s all happening again for you , I can only imagine what you must be going through, it’s so vey difficult to navigate your way through all of this, and I wish you all the very best, and I hope you have a lot of support around you .bodger 123 x

Hi, I certainly empathise with the shock of diagnosis (and the bruising from biopsies!) and I hope you get your treatment plan soon, as I do think it really helps to know what's happening. For me, chemo was definitely not pleasant (still searching for the superpower ), but absolutely do-able. I worked through out my treatment, which gave me something to focus on and distract me from sitting at home just thinking about things.
It's great that you've found us and lovely group on here are great at answering questions, and you can also call the folks at Macmillan on 0800 808 0000 for anything you want to chat through. Best wishes
