I have been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. I have had surgery to remove the mass, and 2 lymph nodes. All news was good,
I have my visit to oncology next week to discuss my treatment plan. I know it is going to be chemo + radiotherapy.
i am trying to stay really positive, and to date, this has been going fine. As my oncology appointment starts to get closer I have started to become a little anxious.
i think i have been looking too much on the internet, so now my brain is in total turmoil. Is this normal.
Hi Christie
Welcome to the forum, I'm Daisy53 one of the Community Champions on this forum. I'm sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. What you feeling is perfectly normal. The data on triple negative is often out of date by about five years. You are better off staying away from google and looking at sites like this one and Breast Cancer Now as those sites have up to date information on breast cancer. They keep coming up with new treatments for triple negative all the time because chemo and radiotherapy are our only line of defence so it's not the death sentence it once was.
I was diagnosed with triple negative nearly five years ago and apart from a small recurrence just over two years later I've been cancer free.
Wishing you the best of luck with your appointment and whatever treatment your oncologist decides to put you on.
Best wishes
Daisy53
Thank you Daisy for getting in touch.
i agree with what you are saying, that the internet is quite out of date.
nice to know that getting a bit more anxious as my appointment gets closer, is normal.i know i cannot change the outcome of the treatment plan, and i know i will deal with it head on, but i keep having these occasional wobbles, but i do straighten myself out.
i am looking into the scalp cooling , seeing a lot of mixed comments. My hair is extremely important to me, and this is the only part of the treatment that makes me anxious.
