Hi everyone
I was diagnosed in late June, having found a tumour under my right nipple. I was referred and seen in 2 weeks. The core biopsy showed an invasive ductal carcinoma grade 2 HR positive, HER2 negative. I started letrozole before surgery and had a right nipple sacrificing reduction mammoplasty and SNB with a left symmetrising mammoplasty on the left. That was 4 weeks ago. The pathology report was encouraging as there were clear margins, the tumour had shrunk with the letrozole and there was just 1 micrometastasis out of 2 lymph nodes. The core biopsy was sent for the Prosigna test which showed a high risk luminal B tumour with a score of 72. I met with the oncologist this Monday and the MDT has recommended a short course (4 cycles) of chemotherapy, TC- docetaxel and cyclophosphamide. That starts on Oct 31st. I will then have 5 radiotherapy treatments and stay on letrozole for 10 years.
Has anyone else had TC? I feel I am in good hands and am positive. I’ve recovered well from the surgery too.
Hi Rosie
Yes you too. I’ve just had 3 head wraps delivered in my colours of plum, brown and forest green. Not exactly loving the look but they are passable! I’ve been practicing, sort of 2 loops around your neck like a snood then pull up one, twist the other like a band. X
Hi Cookie58
Welcome to the forum and I am sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. I had TC chemo. I had four cycles of it. I did have some small side effects on it but on the whole I managed pretty well on it. I rested when I needed to and was able to go for a walk most days. It's good that you have confidence in your medical team, that's half the battle.
Wishing you the best of luck with your treatment and hopefully you won't have too many side effects.
Best wishes

Hi Cookie58
I lost my hair after my second infusion. It didn't start growing back until I finished my treatment and it took at least a month. In the meantime I wore headgear whenever I went out. I had a little bit of nausea and a little bit of stomach trouble. I took my anti-sickness tablets when I did feel well and they made me feel better.
