Hi has anyone suffered with eye problems? I’ve been on Letrozole for fifteen month, but I’m starting to experience symptoms that I think are related. My eyes really hurt on sunny days and I can’t open them in sunlight. This has only happened over the last few weeks. I’m also suffering from very low moods and irritability. I’m not in a very good place and very anxious . I can’t think what else could be causing this. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.
Hi, I'm suffering just as we speak! Although mine do not hurt, just sore. I've been on Letrozole and Abemicilib since August last year and have got terrible dry eyes at the moment, they're driving me mad! Just constant streaming. I've got some eye drops I'm hoping they help. I also have a very short fuse at present,I'm sick.of the side effects.Have you spoken to your oncologist? Xx
Thanks for your reply. I don’t wish this on anyone but it’s helps to know it’s not in the mind. At the moment I can barely keep my eyes open. Spec savers prescribed drops for dry eyes but they’re not helping. Strange thing is antihistamine seem to help. I havn’t spoke to anyone medically as I feel these side effects are appearing a while after starting the med. I’m wondering if it’s because estrogen levels have declined.
I may have to speak to someone as I’m worried about my mood, fatigue and total lack of interest in anything. It’s a dilemma to choose the right option. Good luck.
Could be the estrogen, I know that's what is affecting my legs, and it affects your moods too. You're right it is a dilemma. I've got one more year on the Abemaciclib and only 9 to go on Letrozole!
If they both help to keep the Cancer away then I guess it's worth all the rubbish we're going through. Fingers xd they do work.
Good luck and this site is always here if you're feeling down ..take care x
The low moods, irritability, anxiety r defo part of low/no oestrogen. Like onset of menopause. It's left me anxious, irritable, poor sleep, sore joints, exhausted and so much more. My physio said oestrogen helps our body in many ways including lubricating our body in a round about way. Defo speak to ur specialist about it. We all react differently. Ur not imagining things. If ur suffering it needs to be discussed, whatever is causing it. Big hugs
Thanks to everyone for their advice and support. It’s good to know it’s not a lone journey. I wish you all the best of heath and a cancer free life ahead. ️x
