Hello there. I have Stage IV secondary breast cancer and, having had 12 weeks of chemo (paclitaxel) have been having Phesgo targeted injections for some while now.
This seems to be going well generally (apart from peripheral neuropathy in my feet), but my main issue is that I have severe skin itchiness, which is not getting any better.
I’ve tried Fucibet cream which didn’t help and am now trying an itch relief cream called Eurax, which seems to be mildly soothing. I just wondered if any of you had had the same problem and found a solution?! If so, I would love to hear from you!
many thanks.
Hi Viticella and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
Having peripheral neuropathy in your feet and now severe itchiness must be very unpleasant.
I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you also join and post in the secondary breast cancer forum which is a great place to ask questions and share experiences with others who have a similar diagnosis to you.
To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Hello Lindz
So sorry you too are suffering in this way. I agree that it seems worse at night time.so far, for me, the Eurax has been the most helpful.
i’m going to see a skin specialist at the end of the month, so if I am offered anything else, I will let you know.
if I wear socks in bed somehow this seems to calm the irritation on my feet a bit.
all the best.
Hello Lindz
I just wanted to let you know, in case you are still suffering skin reaction, I have been given a cream by my dermatologist which really helps. It is Dermovate ointment.
it is described as “a topical steroid that contains the active ingredient clobetasol propionate. It's used to reduce swelling, redness, and itching of the skin”.
If you are still suffering, do hope you will find it helpful too.
Bye for now - all the best xx
