Hello,

I am new in this group.  I am going to have a risk-reducing breast surgery.  Reconstruction using my own tissues, problably from the tummy.  I have a lot of questions and doubts. I don't have yet the date but I would like to know if sombedy who has had this operation could advise me and give me some tips.  Like good exercises to do before the operation and after and things I should do and things I shouldn't do.  I have just had my ovaries removed and I didn't have too much guidance. I was very lost after the surgery.

Thank you very much for your help,

  • Hi Cortijera - I just wanted to say hi and welcome you.  I don't have the experience to answer your questions but there will be lots of lovely people on here who do.  I'm pretty new to the group myself but I'm just thinking... If you don't get the answers you are looking for, perhaps post again with your question in the title of your post so those who have answers are drawn to your post.  Wishing you all the best for your surgery.

  • Hello Triah,

I will do that.  Thank you very much for your answer.

  • Hi ,

Welcome to the Online Community, it's good to have you here. Following on from 's suggestion, I have updated the title of this thread so other members will be able to see exactly what you're asking. Hopefully some helpful folks will be along to contribute their sage advice soon. Also, because I have posted this reply to your thread, it should pop it back to the top of the discussion list, further helping with visibility.

Just to let you know, I have removed the duplicate thread you posted, so now you only have this thread to check back on.

While you wait for some input from other members, don't forget you can get answers to any treatment-related questions over on our Ask a Nurse forum. The forum group is open from Monday to Friday, and you can post your question by starting a new discussion thread there. Once you have posted your question, one of our Macmillan Cancer Information Nurse Specialists will respond within 1-3 working days.

Alternatively, you can talk to one of our nurses using our main Macmillan Support Line on freephone 0808 808 00 00. The Support Line is open from 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week. Just select the option to speak to one of our Cancer Information Nurse Specialists, and you will be connected as soon as the next one is available.

I hope the above information is helpful, but please do let us know if there's anything else you need.

    All the best,
    Matthew
