Hello All,
I am taking the hormone blocking tablets Anastrozole for the last 2 months and am feeling very tired, Has anyone felt the same on these tablets. I have also just started taking a chewable calcium with vit D tablet to hopefully stop the thinning of the bones alongside the Anastrozole.
Please could someone recommend the best massage oil for a very tight mastectomy scar - op was in September,
Many thanks for any answers or advice on the above.

I've been on Anastrozole for 3 months now, and also had radiotherapy a couple of weeks after I started taking them. So very tired initially, but not sure if that was the tablets or the radiotheraphy or both. However, like most things it seems to be a matter of time - BCN told me that it takes a few months for your body to get used to them. The tiredness has improved now. A few weeks ago, I literally had no energy to do anything after 4pm in the afternoon, and sleep didn't help. But that has changed. There were days when I did too much, and had to have a day or two doing nothing - but you get used to what your body can take. Other side effects such as feeling sick and a dry mouth started to disappear after two months. The hair is falling out less now, and although I still have leg cramps, they are more mild than at the beginning. At somepoint in my notes it says that my Vitamin D level is normal, I assume they checked this in a blood test. And I was given a Bone Scan which said that my bone density was normal. I take Vit D now anyway, and the occasional iron tablet.
Because I'm a bit stingy, I just used my facial moisturiser for my scars, because that was pretty good stuff. Think the BCN recommended Bio-oil and one other, but I can't remember the name - if you search scar or bio-oil in the forum there will be some recommendations. I was given a large tub of AquaMax by the radiotherapists to prevent skin reaction, and this is good stuff - think the key there was something that isn't fragranced. I regularly used to wake up during the night in the early days as well which doesn't help with tiredness - again things settle down in time. Hope you feel better soon and can look back on your tiredness as something in the past.
Thank you it's always good to know how it feels. My friend said her husband couldn't understand why she went to bed in the afternoon. On the outside we may appear the same but if it's normal to feelired and exhausted, it's worth knowing. I want to get in with it but have to wait until my tissue sample result comes back with yay or nay to chemo.
