Hi,
I am posting this on behalf my mum.
She is 55 & has just been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, although the lump has been removed and she is awaiting chemo the stats online for this particular cancer returning seems higher than some of the other breast cancers which is terrifying her.
Is there anyone else out there with triple negative breast cancer?
Or anyone who has recovered and surpassed the 5 years?
Hope to hear from you soon.
Hi Sabrina22
For me, it wasn't having cancer that changed the way things tasted it was having chemo that did that. Once my chemo was completely finished my taste buds went back to normal.
x
What did you eat? I had Covid last May similar effect. Taste buds change as you get older as well, I love spice food and garlic. X
I ate spicy foods like curry or chilli and found that pineapple doesn't lose it's taste.
Hello ocha
got my letter yesterday for the marker date its a week Monday so im staying calm and just asking for a good sedative. I've heard they can give a needle in ur hand to sedate not just numb.
That’s good you have your date, another box ticked and everything coming together. Perhaps double check sedation before you go so you don’t have to worry about it on the day. I hope it all goes well and you feel no pain x
My next steps are stitches out on the 24th January. Hopefully around that time Pathology report will be complete. That then goes before the Tumour Committee, guess the same as a UK multidisciplinary team, and decision made on next stage in treatment. Oh the joys!
Hya ....is this your mums diagnosis could I ask her age plz ...coz I've been told that the recovery depends on age . healing power and general good health....Im 73 and my skin is so sensitive a scar or bruise lasts for months ....im not a soft timid person by nature ...but I dont like pain in that region of my body...that why I'm more scared of the Savi scout implant and the sentinel node dye injection all happening next week.
give my love to your mum for her speedy recovery. Anxious Maryoma.
Hya and good morning from very windy UK....yes come tomorrow I will have a load of Q for my breast nurse.
oh wow how long have u had ur stitches in ...they told me mine would be dissolve ones...but hey its each individual cases.....awww you sound positive though and yes prognosis results should be bk by then ..
wishing you a good and speedy recovery. I'll keep posting but there not many replies. only you Ocha and another user.
love and best thoughts Anxious Maryoma.
Hi again, go with a list then you won’t miss anything off. I’m sure they’re used to it.
Staples underarm, ouch ouch. Boob has dissolving. I’ll have some interesting battle scars.
My daughter has come out from Scotland to visit me, that’s given me a lovely boost. I have my body weight in Tunnocks wafers to eat….and tattie scones!
ouch ouch Ocha.....is that where you had sentinel biopsy.
That’s the one. It’s lower than I thought it would be so an inch or so under the armpit. Looks like its smiling at me ha ha. I had to have it redressed yesterday as it was a little oozy but healing going well. Lovely Spanish nurse, made me laugh. Told me all okay because didn’t have smelly puss
