Hello everyone, I have just received the news that I have Her2 positive breast cancer.
I caught my lump early it is only 17mm but I still have to have the lumpectomy, chemo and radiotherapy.
Anyone else going through this and does this ever go away?
Hi Plantlover
Yes I knew before diagnosis so it didn't come as a total shock, but when it is confirmed its still hits you a bit
I am coming round to telling people but its still very early days for me. I am having my pre op assessment next tuesday but to complicate matters I have a heart problem as yet undiagnosed!
Thank you for your advice about our grandaughter, she is 16 and going through the teenage years + losing her dad so she is a bit fragile.
How are you doing? Have you had your op yet?
Sending positive vibes and my best wishes
Hi Cuffcake2000
I am coming round to telling people getting my head round it now. With regards to our grandaughter it is a good idea to ask advice + I'm trying to protect her as she has been through a lot with the recent death of her dad and she's going through the teenager years!
Your kids sound amazing and so grown up
Sending you love and best wishes for your op on 3rd nov will be thinking of you
Regards xx
Hi 13Poppy04,
I hope they can help you soon to find out what's the problem.with your heart. That's a lot. Is that the next thing for you? Test for your heart? I
will have a lumpectomy the 3rd od November. Same as Cuffcake2000, although for her it will be the 2nd surgery.
I send you good vibes too!
Hi Stillanoptimist,
How are you doing?
When are you having your lumpectomy?
Sending you good vibes
Hi Plantlover
Yep its a double whammy for me!
Heart problem came before the lump. The cancer was found during a scan for an unrelated problem.
I had my phone consultation for my heart last thursday a day after the results of my biopsy.
I am going for my pre op assessment on tuesday so dont know if my heart prob will hold surgery up?
Also got an appt with the cancer nurse next friday so may have a few answers then.
Sending my love and best wishes for the 3rd will be thinking of you
Hi 13Poppy04,
Sorry to hear about your heart problem, I hope when you go for your pre op assessment they are able to work things out so you don't have to delay any surgery. Perhaps jot down any questions that pop into your head so you have them to hand for both your pre op and your appointment with the BCN. I make notes on my phone of anything I think of and then nearer my appointment time I can write them out properly so I can ask if something isn't covered in the appointment.
Good luck with both your appointments
Hugs from cuffcake x x x x x
Hi Cuffcake2000
Yep I have to write notes, the last 14 months has been challenging with several visits to A&E and 2 hosp stays. After a while it all starts to blend into one confusing muddle of who said what, when and where!
The BCN did say on results day that there is a plan B if I cant have a general anestectic.
Just keeping busy and trying to put it to the back of my mind but its not easy as we all know xxxxxx
