Hello, I'm 50 years old , I was diagnosed in May the 18 , had sessions of Chemotherapy already , and in friday the 7 I had my Lymph Nodes operation. Everything is ok , just little pain . Now waiting for the results, if is still cancer cells or not on my lymph nodes. I'm now debating what king of reconstruction done go for ? So many good and bad things. The doctor suggested reconstruction with my own tissues..... some people talks a lot about implants. It's a tough decision. Any one that have been through similar situation? Thanks for reading.
Hi
I’ve had a masectomy and lymph node clearance and an immediate expander implant, just because I couldn’t deal with the thought of being flat and knowing I would be having radiotherapy, it was the safest option. In the future I’d love a reconstruction witn my own tissue, as it’s more natural but for now I’m happy with my new breast!
So I suppose for you it depends upon your future treatment plan and preferences. Good luck
Thank you Totally Tropical for your reply. Actually I have an appointment tomorrow and I'm hopping that my Lymph node results, it came back clear from cancer cells. Them they will operate and do reconstruction at same time .
If did came back positive, I'm assuming they will tell me tomorrow what will be my next step .
I'm praying for good news
