Hello guys i was diagnosed a week ago Invasive Ductal Carcinoma..i dont have medical history or family history of cancer..My IHC tests: ER+/PR+/HER-, does anyone have or had same as me...i just want some advice guys
Hi
I had Idc grade 1 stage 1. Lumpectomy. 2 areas 4mm and 9mm Just awaiting oncologist call regards to radium treatment. I’m on tamoxifen at present for 10 years and it’s ok
I was also er+ her2- not sure about my or they didn’t mention it
operation went really well. It’s the waiting game leading to results that were the worst. I feel very lucky with my diagnosis. If you can be lucky with this.
hope your operation goes well. Plenty of ladies on here to help along the way x
Hi I also er+ and her2-
Have had a lumpectomy and nothing in lymph nodes thought I would avoid chemo... however mine is grade 3 and therefore more likely to return, so chemo it is. Waiting to start that now. Agree with Army that the waiting is awful. Look after yourself x
Hi
I have invasive ductal also with ER+. I am having the surgery on Wednesday to remove the tumour. Not looking forward to it but at least the thing will be out of my body. Depending upon node biopsy, I will have radiotherapy and hormone blockers for five years. Strong family history so I am awaiting gene testing in case I need to have preventative surgery ie have the other one removed.
It is very weird to feel well, yet face a major operation. I am trying to focus on being lucky that it was picked up on routine screening.
Hi,
I think the wait for surgery is usually up to 4 weeks from your biopsy result. From the date your GP referred you, there are roughly 2 months for your treatment to start - either chemo or surgery are usually first. All the scan results need to be in for the right treatment plan to be made for you. Sometimes this means that things fall a little outside the 60 days.
I don't think cancer stops us getting married and anyone who truly loved us would be able to see past it, whether or not we could have children. You could discuss harvesting eggs if you did need chemo. Ask your team about preserving your fertility for the future and the risks of any associated pregnancy with your particular stage of cancer. It is a really common question for young women and they will be able to give you good advice.
It is a difficult time waiting for scans and not knowing what the plan is. Thinking of you as you wait for your scan and your plan. x
Hi,
I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma on 17th May and I’m 40 years old.
I had MRI, CT scan and bone scan in the 2 weeks following my diagnosis. This process, waiting for the results and waiting for a treatment plan was by far the hardest as I felt like I was in limbo and no one could give me any answers.
Was at an appointment with my consultant on Tuesday and I now have a plan and know I have stage 1 IDC, ER+ PR+ and HER-
My tumor is big enough so I will be having a mastectomy on the 23/06/2022 and they’ll be removing 3 lymph nodes to check them. They don’t think it has spread to the lymph nodes (I actually went in with a small lump under my arm which was checked and was clear but the mammogram found BC in my left breast. I count myself lucky that it was found by chance!) so the consultant is hoping I’ll just need to mastectomy and then hormone treatment.
I’m aware thing can change in a heartbeat but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it stays this way
