I was diagnosed only yesterday I feel awful like my whole world has crashed down
Hi World, so sorry to hear about your BC but pleased you have found this site which will be a source of comfort for you, this place is full of amazing women who have all been where you are now and know how you feel, you are not alone. It is a scary place to be but it gets easier as you start getting information about your treatment. If you share your BC type and teatment plan you will get answers from women on the same path as you which can be really helpful. One day at a time, love from Ann
Hi Wirld
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. Triple negative is very treatable these days. There is light at the end of the tunnel even if it doesn’t seem like it at the moment. I was diagnosed with triple negative grade three stage 1 last year. I had chemo, surgery and radiotherapy and I am now cancer cancer free. Take things each day as it comes and know that your medical team will do everything in their power to get you well again.
Wishing you the best of luck with your treatment when it starts.
Best wishes

Hi World
Sorry to hear you’ve been diagnosed, I have exactly the same diagnosis as you and know just how you’re feeling right now. It’s devastating at first but will get easier as you get your treatment plan and a date for surgery. I was diagnosed back in August and have now had lumpectomy (hardly painful at all for me and a huge mental boost getting rid of ‘it’). In hindsight I would have worried a little less and believed my team of experts when they told me it was very treatable.
There is a triple negative group on this forum you could join in addition to this group and you can ring the Macmillan nurses too for support. Very best wishes x
Hello I’m in the same position as you I was diagnosed 10 days ago. My world has also come crashing down but I’m holding onto the bits of happiness in my life. I went for a run today and that made me really feel good. I haven’t started treatment yet. I think once we start treatment, we will know that we are on the road to recovery.
Hi Suzi I noticed World was no longer a member but I wanted to give you some encouragement as I am (as of 3 days ago) 4 years NED which, when I wrote my response above was something that I wasn’t sure would be achievable. My advice would be not to Google anything TNBC related as statistics for outcomes have improved and the info is very outdated. You’re at the most difficult time at the moment before you have your treatment or surgery (I had surgery first). I am a member of a well known social media TNBC group with members who are 20 years plus TNBC free! I found the surgery (I went on to have dmx as I have pALB2 genetic mutation) easy to recover from and the chemo doable and though not pleasant, not as tough as I expected. Wishing you all the best x
