Hi everyone I'm new to this group this is my first blog, I was diagnosed with breast cancer on the 13th of September it was discovered at my routine mammogram so it came as a bit of a shock, iv had ultrasound and 2 biopsys and I'm due for an MRI scan this Wednesday which I'm really afraid of because I suffer from claustrophobia, my head has been everywhere since I was diagnosed some days I'm  brilliant and other days I'm not coping to well, thanks so much if you have read this very lengthy blog.

  • Hi AJMC

Welcome to the forum and sorry hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. It’s understandable that your head has been all over the place we’ve all been through it. Waiting for your treatment plan is hard but once your medical team gives you your treatment it gets easier. Breast cancer is very treatable these days. I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer last year and after chemo surgery and radiotherapy I am now in remission.

Wishing you the best of luck with your treatment when you start it.

    Best wishes

  • Hi age63, same age as myself, the waiting is definitely the worst if I could get this MRI scan over then hopefully il not be so anxious, it's good to be on this forum though being able to see how everyone else is trying to cope.

I know what you mean the waiting is the worst my first appointment was cancelled and I have had to wait 10 more days so it is a anxious time I just want to know a plan of action as I don't really know what is going to happen as I have been told nothing but as you say it is good to have this forum to go to

Hi Daisy, I echo everything everyone has already said. Please let them know you are claustrophobic before you have your MRI and I'm sure they will try and help you not to panic.

Wishing you all the best xx
