Hi

I'm new here.

I had a lumpectomy end of July this year - margins were ok and lymph nodes clear. Waiting for radiotherapy

The worst is over I'm being told, I'm lucky and should be moving on...

Why am I not back to normal?

Is it Letrozole that is draining me. Some days I have no energy, yet the scar is healing...

I guess processing is required and healing - beyond the external scar x

  • Hi ANWewbie

Welcome to the forum, I'm Daisy53 one of the Community Champions on this forum.  I'm sorry to hear that you were diagnosed with breast cancer.  What you are feeling is perfectly normal, it takes time to recover from a cancer diagnosis as your body has been through a lot.  You might find it helpful to have some counselling, you can ring the helpline on 0808 808 0000 and they can arrange counselling for you'd like.  Alternatively if you have a Maggie's centre or another cancer centre near you you can give them a ring or call in and they can also arrange counselling for you.

There's a paper written by a Dr Peter Harvey called After the treatment finishes then what? which sums up perfectly what the post cancer world is like.  I've read it and I found it very informative.  Here's the link to that paper: After the Treatment Finishes - Then What?.

Wishing you the best of luck with your radiotherapy.

    Best wishes
