Thank to each and everyone of you for your comments. This is a very scary time but being able to talk to others and understand from other people going through the same thing helps. I have decided to give the cold cap a try.

I wish every single one of you good luck with your journey and hope we can all share experiences.

How did everyone feel before their first chemo as im really scared Fearful.

Xx

  • Hello Missblue1525…..I think I can pretty much say everybody will have felt scared before having chemo, it’s the fear of any unknown that is frightening. I had my second chemo session yesterday, don’t feel too bad today, bit headachey….do you know what chemo you will be having? Everyone will have a different experience of the various chemo. I do have the cold cap, the first 10/15 mins are a bit uncomfortable as it freezes but by no means unbearable, after that it is fine, it adds about one and half hours or so onto time, I’m usually there 3 hours, take iPad or book, have hot drink/snack, the time goes by quite quickly…..as I’ve only had 2 sessions don’t know if it’s working yet, but a friend a few weeks ahead of me has kept her hair up to now…...as with everything it’s a very individual experience.

Good luck with it all, you’ll be fine once you’ve had first one and know what you’re dealing with. xx

  • Hi Missblue1525

I felt nervous before my first chemo but once I started my treatment I didn’t find it as scary as I first thought. The nurses on the oncology are very nice and they do everything in their power to make sure that you don’t have too many side effects. You will be given a number you can call if you have any side effects that you are worried about.

Wishing you the best of luck with your treatments.

    Best wishes
