I’ve received a letter in post this morning on findings with loads of description using letters and numbers and medical jargon and I have no idea what it is going on about and is making me anxious
If you're unsure then you can post on here if you are comfortable sharing, and we can help:)
I don’t mind , I think I’ve figured it out but my head was in a bit of a whirlwind earlier .
diagnosis - palpable lump left breast , 2 areas measuring 10mm on each , total area 30mm including nipple
core biopsy - grade 2 ductal carcinoma , oestrogen receptor 8/8 and 7/8 .
axillary lymph node FNA LC4 equivocal
no palpable lymph nodes in left axilla
Thank you , I think I have it figured but my brain keeps telling me otherwise
Seeing your results in black and white must have made everything more real for you ... but the whole thing felt so surreal and overwhelming for me at the beginning...
And it's a lot to take in, no wonder you don't quite trust your brain - I'm sure you have a load of questions about the implications of the contents of the letter too.
If you haven't had one already, I hope you have an appointed soon to discuss it really soon; If not then I'm sure the Macmillan helpline will be able to help on the information side of things and I know there are many women here who would want to support you through this too. X
