Hi everyone
I am a little concerned currently but trying to put it To the back of my mind.
I went to the breast clinic and had scans under the 2 week referral the ultrasound was clear but the consultant felt 3 lumps and I went on for a mammogram which I am yet to find out about but was told the results would go to my doctor in writing and I would receive a letter. However I have just been given a telephone call with the consultant next Wednesday and I am now wondering if this means all good news as otherwise surely bad news would be face to face, I know nobody will be able to tell me my news. But has anyone had bad news on the phone?
Hi Abitunsure welcome to the forum. Things have changed markedly as a result of Covid and things are being done very differently just now so some folks have had results given to them over the phone.
Im sure of the folks on here will be along soon as some of them have had their results over the phone. This period of waiting for results is awful for you and this could yet be good news for you.
When I had my breast clinic screening recall and biopsies I was told I would have results a week later from consultant good or bad . Your lumps maybe benign but may still need monitoring /biopsy or removal so I don't think you can second guess having a phone call. GPS get a letter regardless of outcome to up date your medical records .
Personally if I had lumps even if they said benign from scan I would request a biopsy for peace of mind x
Hi , every clinic will have it's own way of doing things so try not to read too much into things.
When I was waiting for results I was told I would either get results in a person to person meeting or by phone. When the time came I was told to make an in person appointment. I assumed this meant it was bad news (and in my case it was). When I got there they said that their particular policy was not to give bad news over the phone.
I wanted to tell them that by asking me to make the in person appointment (instead of the telephone appointment) that's actually exactly what they had done.
Hopefully your clinic's policy is like mines and you get good news. If it's not good news try not to panic or get too worried as breast cancer is very treatable these days.
Wishing you all the best x
Thank you everyone, I’ll just need to wait and see then as it can by the sound of it mean anything.
Hi I have a telephone call for my post op results, the end of the week. Nearly 6 weeks I have been waiting for them, and my mental health suffering at the moment. Really hoping for positive news, but you just don't know. Best wishes on your results, let us know how it goes xxx
