My girlfriend has been diagnosed with IDC and has to have a NM Bone Scan and a CT Scan to ensure the cancer is nowhere else. It's a scary time not knowing the extent of the cancer. The last couple of nights she has been scratching herself in her sleep. She wakes up with marks on her torso but not near the lump. I wanted to know if this something anyone who has or had breast cancer has experienced?
Hi
I was diagnosed with IDC and DCIS over 4 years ago and have been clear for the last years. I have even woken myself up because I have an itch on the inside of my arm (even last night) consistently since being diagnosed. It's the same side as my breast cancer. I haven't a clue what causes it, just that it is flipping irritating! For me it's only in this place when it's annoying enough to wake me up to need to get at it properly. However, I have noted that I get more itches if I eat chocolate, so I try to avoid chocolate - argh!!!
It might be something as simple as this - she's become reactive to something she eats or she's eating more of something that affects her?
Other than this, I can't really offer much advice.
I wish her (and you) the best of luck with have clear scans, Lesley
Hi Lesley, thanks for your input and good wishes. It seems not to be in the area of the lump. But last night nothing, so fingers crossed it has stopped.
No, not on codeine but it seems so have stopped now. Thanks for your good wishes.
