Hi All

Diagnosed following routine mammogram, mastectomy nearly 3 weeks ago, 3 nodes taken 1 found to be positive. Still don’t have any hormone or her2 results, feel pretty sick all of the time.

anyone have similar.

  • Hi Gilliebean

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have breast cancer. Waiting on results is very hard so try to keep yourself busy doing the things that you love doing.

Wishing you the best of luck with your results.

    Best wishes

  • Similar boat! Has been 4 weeks since. Have you got your results ?

  • Hi Daizy03

I did get my results after about 4 weeks, just finished 1st chemo, feeling ok at mo but probably to soon for side effects as yet.

I felt absolutely desperate when waiting for results, it does feel like it takes forever and you can’t think of anything else and then the wait for the next treatment! It does feel cruel.

Hope they come back soon for you and they are the best they can be for you.

    Take care

    Gillie x

  • Thank you so much for you reply ! Aw glad to hear that your treatment has started. May I ask whether you had axillary clearence or more surgery to remove other lymph nodes? Or ct/bone scan?

What was your her status ?

it does honestly feel like that. And strange thing is today a copy of the gp letter came and the surgeon said he removed 16 nodes when in clinic they said 6… so I am so confused

  • Hi Daizy

My results were her2 positive, hormone negative so they decided I should start chemo and we will then revisit the lymph node situation, either clearance (which I think will be better for my peace of mind) or radiotherapy.

Mine was found on routine mammogram, calcifications with DCIS, invasive bit was only 1.7 mm but had made its way to 1 of 3 nodes tested. Never had a lump so thank god for screening.

I had ct and bone scan when they found her2. The waiting again was nerve racking but they did say it was routine with her2, they were thankfully clear.

Maybe with the go letter something got lost in translation!

  • Hi Gilliebean,

They always do chemo for her2 isn’t it.  How long did you have to wait for the ct scan?

So so lucky for routine mammogram.

    wish all the best

  • And just one other question, sorry to bother you so much! How long did you have to wait to see an oncologist and also got Chemo  to start after they told you all was clear ?

  • Dont mind bother away!

It does always seem to be chemo for her2. I had scans and saw oncologist about 2-3 weeks after results and also had a heart scan. I was due to start chemo 2-3 weeks after seeing onc and was all booked when youngest daughter got COVID so was then delayed another 2 weeks hence just started this week ….has been very stressful but relieved to eventually get started.

hope you are bearing up ok, you will get there x

  • Aw that sounds so stressful! But glad the journey of healing as started for you.
thank you so much. It’s been a week since they tried to arrange a ct, and today when I called they still don’t have a date, which means it’s going to delay everything. And it’s Been a month since the operation already! Scary
