Hello, I've just joined this group at 5am after being awake all night. I have a history with restless leg syndrome and having been prescribed Anastrozole as I had estrogen receptive cancer I'm finding the restless leg worse than I've ever had before. Is it one of the side effects? Also irritable bladder and constipation, I'm not sure I can endure these side effects for 5 years.

  • Good morning....

Sorry you've had a bad night. I just spotted your post. Perhaps another time try Awake .?There is often someone 'awake' there to keep you company.

I can't help with the medical question I'm afraid as with TNBC I don't take additional drugs but I do get restless legs connected with nerve difficulties. A deficiency in magnesium is thought to contribute to the syndrome.  Connected to my destroyed nerves I had blood tests for vitamin B deficiencies.  I now take B12, 6 and 1 regularly. Cramp and restless legs improved too. Perhaps you could ask your GP to check your blood?

I do also know from reading this site for a few years that people often change their after drugs to find one which affects them least. Maybe you should also chat to someone about changing?

I hope you have a better night tonight. Chat again. Love Karen

    Hi

Sorry to hear this.  Regarding insomnia, I can relate to that (for 20+ yrs, so not related to hormone-blockers)  If you google "sleep hygiene", you'll find the recommendations.  Personally, if I can't sleep and am restless, I get up and do things.  I can kip in the afternoon - I'm retired.  However, if you work, have kids etc it's not so easy.  Google that and try suggestions.  Good luck

I believe constipation is a side effect.  I would suggest contacting GP and get some 'powder' stuff which works very well.  Also, lots of fruits, with skins, lots of fluid and exercise

Hope that helps, even if only a little  bit  Slight smile
