Hi,
My chemotherapy and Radiotherapy has finished now but yet i feel low and lost.
I moved into my new home 18th September last year, my 60th Birthday was on the 21st September then diagnosed with Breast Cancer on 28th September.
All iv done since living here is back and forth to the hospital, i need to get out and meet people yet i find it really hard to take that step.
Is there a coffee mornings anywhere? i could do that. That would be a start.

Hi Starsigns
Sorry you find yourself here and feeling low after all your treatment. It can be quite normal to feel like this.
If you type "local cancer support groups [town]" in Google, you'll see if there are any groups local to you. Due to Covid, it might be that they aren't having meetings at the moment, but you might at least be able to chat to someone - and hopefully when they are looking at lifting restrictions, these sort of groups may be more available next month.
When I finished my treatment there was a meeting organised at my local county hospital "moving forward with cancer", it might be worth asking your BCN if they are doing anything like that near you? It was great and I met a couple of other ladies there, plus they had leaflets galore of local groups /other support etc.
This is a great article about after treatment has finished and you may find it really useful.
Kindest wishes,
Lesley
Hi Lesley,
Thank you for your reply, sorry but iv only just found your message, Im not very good at this its so hard for me to chat on here. Its took me 7 months to talk. Iv had chemotherapy, Radiotherapy & just got over covid.... I struggled with depression, loneliness as i moved 177 miles away from my family and friends and of course finance. I move to a flat on 17th September, i don't have the deposit and i was wondering if you know if i could get a loan for the deposit?.... Iv never had to ask for help like this before.
I don't know about Macmillan, but my best suggestion about getting a loan for a deposit would be to contact Citizen's Advice A cursory glance at their website suggests they can point people in the direction of support for other reasons (eg Corona Virus) and I would imagine they may be able to do so for you.
Thank you Katherine ill try them.... Its so hard to ask x
I was also advised to look at the Moving Forward course run by Breast Cancer Now. Just had last radiotherapy today.not sure what to do with myself yet.
