Hi I'm a newbie have been diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer grade 3 micropapillary invasive cancer. Chemo first then mastectomy going to have another ultrasound today as lymph node is swollen not spread to lymph nodes or anywhere so thats a positive hopefully it just when I had the biopsies. Bit worried about the chemo but it needs to start asap. Beginning to feel a bit scared

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the forum. The whole cancer diagnosis is a scary thing and all the treatments are unknown until we have to go through them. I didn’t have chemo but lots here did, check out the Breast Cancer Chemo thread in the Diagnosis and treatments section for lots of tips and general chat about chemo. And the Awake thread in the Chat section has people popping in day and night. Serious chat but also lots of humour (sometimes of the gallows variety but not always!). Wishing you well and sending love and a big virtual hug, HFxx

  • And just to add, if you want to attract others with your particular type of breast cancer, might be worth starting another thread with the type in the title. Xx

  • Hi April Showers,

I was diagnosed with Inflammatory BC stage 3 at the beginning of February. The cancer was in my lymph nodes and the skin of my breast too. Click on my name profile for more info.

I’ve just completed 6 rounds of chemo. I can’t say it was easy but I’ve done it. More importantly, it seems to have worked. My BC surgeon could no longer feel my tumour or lymph nodes with a physical examination. Awaiting scan results, prior to surgery at the end of July, so will know more then.

It’s a scary diagnoses and treatment needs to start immediately. Thankfully it is treatable though.

You’ll find some helpful tips and great support on the May/June chemo thread.
