Hi everyone,

I have just been diagnosed with Invasive Lobular Carcinoma, grade 2 on Friday. I have been given my treatment options depending on what the mri shows which I have on Monday.

Do they scan both breasts during the mri scan, as now I think I may be able to feel something in my other breast.

Thank you.

  • Hi, yes they scan both breasts with the MRI. You are face down which I found less claustrophobic than other MRIs I've had. It also doesn't last that long, maybe 15 mins or so. I also had a contrast dye injected towards the end they put a cannula in before they start and they let you know when it's going to happen.

I also had to have a CT scan and heart scan after my MRI as they decided to give me chemo before the operation.

I think a CT scan is fairly standard but it is the scariest because they tell you it is to check it hasn't spread.

    Good luck with it
