Hi, my name is Patricia and I am about to undergo a lymph node dissection after a left breast mastectomy. I am more worried about this op than the 1st one as I imagine it is harder to recover from. I would like to hear from anyone who has had the same procedure.
Hi Patricia. I had my full lymph node dissection at the same time as my mastectomy in January. If you stick with the exercises it really isnt bad. I also had physio. I had full movement throughout but you just dont get your feeling/sensation back in the area they removed. My surgeon says this can be permanent. It really isnt anything to worry about and I wish you well x
Hi, thanks for the reassurance. How long before you felt back to your old self? Xx
It all depends on what yr next step of treatment is after yr op. I went on to have chemo etc. I had time off for the mastectomy and lymph node removal but was driving in 3 weeks went bk to work etc. Felt okay. Just listen to yr body xx
