Hi

just been diagnosed with triple negative bc. Nothing in lymph’s at mo but grade 3. Had appointment with chemo doctor yesterday. All starting to sink in. Will need radio and op after chemo. How long does it take to get everything started? Also my boob hurts sometimes. It’s been like this since the biopsy. Is the lump telling me it’s there? Is this common? Are there any comfy bras I can wear? Im a large lady lol.
waiting for mri in case it’s anywhere else. Will need ct as I had covid last year so also worried about infections to my already battered lungs. Told I will have to cut everyone off from seeing them as covid is about and I can’t risk catching anything during chemo.
Any advice on anything as it’s all new and im just so overwhelmed by it.
I just feel lost.
thanks x

  • Hi Kas,

Sorry to hear you’ve been diagnosed with BC. It’s all a bit of a whirlwind of tests and appointments at the beginning. Click on my name to read my profile if you want more info.

After my CT scan, to check for spread- negative, fortunately, my chemo started really quickly. I’m having my 6th and last one on Thursday. It’s not easy at times but it is doable.

Sorry to hear you’ve had Covid. Have you had the vaccine? I’m on 3 weekly chemo, on this regime you’re more susceptible to infection between day 7 - 14 after chemo.

Hope you get your scans soon and that the results are favourable. All the best.

  • Hi Bluebell

ive had first vaccine and doctor told me he’s going to try and get 2nd pushed through quicker. Seeing fertility clinic first as not had kids yet and want one.
it all seems encouraging so far but still scared of the outcome.
read your profile. I’ve read also what some others are going through. Basically not matter what kind we have we are all in the same boat.
I hate playing the waiting game.
thank you and best wishes for your journey xx

  • Hi Kas79

Sorry to hear that you’ve been diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer and that you had COVID. I was diagnosed with triple negative last September. Mine was also grade 3 but with lymph node involvement. I won’t say that chemo is easy but it is doable. I had 8 cycles of chemo, 4 of AC and 4 of Taxol. I didn’t have too many side effects during my treatment. The care and attention I got from my medical team was second to none despite COVID.

One thing I did to prevent mouth sores was to put half a teaspoon of salt in half a cup of hot water topped up with cold water and used it 3 times a day after every meal and I didn’t have any mouth problems.

Be kind to yourself and make a sure that you get out for a walk every day even if you’re only able for a short one. It does the head good to get out and about. Also keep doing the things that you love and you will find that it will help.

It’s perfectly normal for your breast to feel sore sometimes so don’t worry too much about it.

Wishing you the best of luck with your CT Scan and with your treatments. If you have any questions about chemo I’ll only be too happy to answer them, I’m on here at least twice a day every day.

    Best wishes

  • Thank you Daisy. I have just had appointment booked for fertility for this Friday so that is a relief already. Hope they can help there and then I can get this bad boy treatment started. Want Larry the lump gone. I am trying to joke about it even though it is a very serious thing I have. I am shocked at how many of us there are and don’t  feel so alone now. I keep being told there’s better success rates etc but I just see aggressive fast growing and panic.
I’m glad your treatment is going well. I will certainly message when I need more info. I hate reading things as that worries me to.

    Love kas x
