Just been diagnosed with a papillary carcinoma in situ. This has been described as a DCIS. Any advice or experiences of this would be helpful. Many thanks
Hi Beth65 and a very warm welcome to the online community
I had a different type of cancer but noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. This is probably because this is such an active group that it has slipped off the first page before someone with the right experience has seen it. By replying to you it will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list.
While you're waiting for replies it would be great if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hi Beth, my mum had the same diagnosis. Her cancer is ER+, PR+1 HER2-. She had a mastectomy in March with sentinel node biopsy. Regrettably 4 of 6 lymoh nodes removed showed traces of cancer so she then had bone scan, CT scan any ECG. All came back clear which was a huge relief, as her cancer is very aggressive she’s just begun chemotherapy with a plan that this will be followed by further surgery to remove auxiliary lymph nodes, then radiotherapy and hormone medication. 1st session so far has gone ok (touch wood remains so).
Sorry you’re here but good luck with your journey
Hi Beth65
Welcome and sorry that you have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Take things one day at a time and be kind to yourself.
I was diagnosed with triple negative Breast cancer last September and had 8 cycles of chemo, 4 of AC and 4 of Taxol. Before I started chemo I had both a CT Scan and a Nuclear Bone Scan before I started treatment to make sure the cancer hadn’t spread. It hadn’t. Five weeks after I finished chemo I had a lumpectomy and two nodes taken from under my arm. I had another CT and Nuclear bone scan again to make sure it still hadn’t spread as I had some cancer left in one of the lymph nodes. I’ve been given further chemo this time in tablet form to keep me well. I will be starting Radiotherapy on Monday.
wishing you all the best for your treatments and I am here if you have any questions or just want to talk.
Daisy
