Diagnosed DCIS high grade, nervously waiting for operation

Hi, sorry you find yourself here. I too am in the same position as you although I have my surgery this Wednesday. I have had good and bad days, mainly I have managed to put it to the back of my mind. Now I am gradually getting more and more nervous.

Do you manage to get on with things?

Did your team give you an approximate date?

sorry you are here as well ️

My operation is booked for the 8th of June.

I’m having the Calcifications removed and I’m also having my lymph nodes checked. Are they checking your lymph nodes? 
Most days I manage to get on with things I keep myself busy. I’ve been on a long walk this morning, but yeah, I get where you’re coming from. It does make me feel sick to the stomach.

Ok so that’s not too long to wait but any waiting seems like years doesn’t it!

Yes I went on some long walks but then fell down the stairs and broke my toe!! Not much help for my mental health!

No I don’t think they are at this point. From what I remember they send it off for testing first to see if it’s spread or invasive then decide if they need removing.

yeah they sent my biopsy off and they said it’s contained in the duct but because it’s high-grade I think they just want to make sure and that way they don’t have to go back in for a second time hopefully

Just a quick question actually did they put a metal clip into your breast?

ever since I’ve had that put in my whole left side has been hurting like my shoulder my arm etc 

Yes it’s a marker for the Surgeon and I haven’t had any effect from it at all. Have you spoken to your breast care nurse? I’m sure they would be of help.
