Hi everyone. I'm new to the group. I had breast cancer in 2004. Had a left side mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy and have lived well since then. Then about 18 months ago I noticed I had a winged scapula. Tried physio but began to get left shoulder pain, nerve pain in my arm, tingling in my hand and fingers and gradual loss of movement in my arm. Followings 3 MRI's, a CT scan, a lumbar puncture, a nerve conduction study and finally a PET scan, it was found that I had a malignant tumour in my brachial plexus. It was growing around the nerves, hence the nerve pain and tingling. Yesterday I began a course of Palbociclib and Letrazole. Anyone else on this combination? Do you know if these should be taken together at the same time or can I take the Letrazole in the morning and the Palbociclib at bedtime? Would this make any difference to the efficiency of the drugs? I could ring my cancer nurse, but it seems a trivial question to bother her with! Thank you
Hi Nell11
Welcome to the forum and sorry about your diagnosis. While I'm not on the drugs you are on I thought I'd send you a message as no one has replied to you yet.
I would ring my Breast Cancer nurse to ask for advice about how to take them, that's what they're there for.
Wishing you the best of luck with your treatments.
Best wishes

Thank you!l....I didn't think there would be an issue, but it's reassuring to know. Hope all is going well for you. How long have you been on these tablets? Are you getting any of the side effects? I'm only on day 3 and so far just getting a bit of a queasy feeling in my tummy. No sickness (yet!) I guess the fatigue will kick in after a few more days! All the best x
Hi
Ive just finished my first cycle. It took a while to get the right anti sickness ( I honestly feel sick with pretty much any and all medication) overall the tablets are fine. With the letrozole I had sore joints for about 3 days and have been fine since then. Instead I am currently having more issues with very high calcium and very low potassium, which is how I ended up being diagnosed. Hoping to get a grip on the levels so I feel more myself.
hopefully if you are feeling ok after a few days then fingers crossed you don’t get any side effects.

Sounds like you've been having a pretty tough time. I hope they can get your levels sorted out soon. It will be interesting to see my blood test results after this first cycle. It will give.me a better idea of what to expect over the coming months. Hope you are able to get out and enjoy the lovely weather we're having this bank holiday.... nothing like a bit of sunshine to raise the spirits! x
