My mum has just had an op to remove a lump from her breast , a one cm tumour , she seems fine but her pain is from the biopsy from her lymph nodes , is this a bad sign or normal ? Thank you for any replies x

Hi Traceytrees welcome to the forum. I take it they took the Sentinal Lymph node when they did the surgery to remove the Lump. Pain is pretty normal after this type of surgery for lots of different reasons. Then main one being the surgery and the pain that follows that and also swelling or bruising that may occur as a result and this can extend up under the arm as well so it is pretty normal to have pain. However, if your mum is worried than get her to call the breast nurse and they can maybe have a look at this for her.

If the surgery is very recent painkillers do need to be taken routinely for a few days following surgery so encourage her to do that .xx
