Could some one explain the different Hormone related breast cancer, had never heard of it.
That's all they where told
Thank You
Hi Ellie73 welcome to the forum. I assume that someone has been told that they have Hormone positive Breast Cancer. This means that the tumour is being fed by Oestrogen which all of us produce and can get stored in women.
What that means is that medication will be given to take for about 10 years that will shut off the production of Oestrogen as a preventative measure either after surgery or can sometimes be given right away to shrink tumours before surgery everyone is different.
You will imagine that shutting off a woman's Oestrogen very often brings on Menopause and all that is associated with this.
Hope thats helpful for you?
Thank you so much, my daughter got told this on Monday, mastectomy, then the tablet.
I was not with her and i am trying to get my head round it.
I myself belong to a different group.
Thank You again
