Hi . Only joining today 5 days after first FEC . I'm still too scared to talk about my tumour, I want to be positive but am plagued by negative thoughts. Maybe I will be able to ask for your help here in time relating to my type /progression of tumour.

What I woukd like to ask about is constipation and tiredness. After a load of docusate and senna managed to go this morning.  Now not sure how much to keep taking. Also now really tired, sleeping loads.  Forcing myself into bath, but then back to sleep again. Getting up for a outdoor walk,  but then back to sleep. Eating regularly and drinking plenty.

Should I just accept the tiredness ?  And sleep?

Thank you to anyone who has time to respond. Xx

  • Hello

I was exactly the same on my treatment.  After first fec I was floored. Slept hours and hours. Managed a walk but was so tired as you say. Once I got into 3rd week I started to feel alot better but still , it was hard. Keep talking and you will be reassured by many on here that your experience and the way you are feeling is ok.

    Love julie x

    Hi

firstly just wanted to say you wouldn’t be human if you weren’t scared and didn’t have negative thoughts we all do, especially at the beginning but over time you learn to look for the positives.

I have had 3 EC and was constipated with each for a few days, think mainly a combo of the chemo and steroids I was given laxido so not sure if that’s similar the best thing to do is speak to your team they will be able to help either with advice or an alternative.

As for the tiredness the best thing you can do is just take it easy and rest when you can, hopefully you should start to feel a bit more energetic in a few days.

Hope your feeling better soon, take care.
